Flannels Newcastle Lift Transformation.
Architectural wrapping was used to restore a worn lift interior at Flannels Newcastle, delivering a flawless, premium finish without the disruption, downtime or cost of full replacement.

Project overview.
As part of the opening of Flannels’ flagship Newcastle store, every detail of the interior environment needed to reflect the brand’s premium positioning. The existing lift, however, showed clear signs of wear, with scratched and damaged surfaces that no longer aligned with the overall design standard of the space.
Replacing or removing the lift for off-site refurbishment would have been time-consuming, costly and highly disruptive within a live retail environment. A smarter, more efficient solution was required.
A collaborative and considered approach.
Wrap Interiors worked in close coordination with the wider project team to deliver a safe and seamless refurbishment. Lift deactivation and safety procedures were managed by qualified specialists, allowing the wrapping process to be carried out efficiently and without compromise.
This collaborative approach ensured the refurbishment could take place within a tight timeframe while maintaining full compliance and site safety throughout.

Preparation that ensures a flawless finish.
Before wrapping commenced, the lift interior was carefully prepared. Existing dents and scratches were repaired, surfaces were smoothed and cleaned, and all areas were properly assessed to ensure the final finish would meet the standards expected within a high-end retail setting.
The project covered multiple floors and included both internal and external lift surfaces, requiring precision, consistency and attention to detail at every stage
Premium architectural finishes for high-traffic use.
To achieve the desired aesthetic and durability, 3M DI-NOC™ architectural film in a matt black finish was specified. The material was selected for its refined appearance, resistance to wear and suitability for high-traffic commercial environments.
The finish complemented Flannels’ sleek interior design while providing a robust, easy-to-maintain surface capable of withstanding daily use.

Fast turnaround, minimal downtime.
Time was a critical factor. Architectural wrapping allowed the lift refurbishment to be completed in just over a day, significantly reducing downtime compared to traditional refurbishment methods.
The installation was carried out cleanly and quietly, with no paint fumes, dust or prolonged closures, allowing the store’s launch programme to remain on schedule.
A refined result for a premium brand.
The completed lift now sits seamlessly within the wider Flannels interior, delivering a clean, contemporary finish that aligns with the brand’s high standards. The transformation achieved the desired visual impact while avoiding the disruption and cost associated with replacement or repainting.
The project demonstrates how architectural wrapping can deliver high-quality results quickly and efficiently, even within demanding retail environments.
